There are some wonderful places to visit around Antigua by yacht that you can’t reach by road or your own feet! Our two day sailing itinerary is the perfect way to explore those hidden-away bays and coves. This 2-day Antigua itinerary is just an example.
Antigua Itinerary Day 1
Your Antigua Itinerary will start at our sunny base in Jolly Harbour Marina. We will introduce you to your experienced Captain and you will sit down over a cooling drink to discuss your ideal itinerary. Tell us what you enjoy doing – snorkeling, relaxing or simply swimming with the fishes! If you have asked us to provide provisions for you they will all be stored on board for you. If you prefer to cater for yourselves, that’s very easy from our base as there is a large supermarket right here. Remember that each of our yachts have BBQ’s on board so you can dine al fresco under the stars.
When you leave the Marina, you will sail along the picturesque west coast to Deep Bay. Your Captain will drop anchor so that you can either snorkel on the wreck of the Andes – an old merchant ship buried in the sandy bottom of the bay – or take a leisurely walk up to the old fort ruins overlooking the bay. If relaxation is what you really crave, then relax on board with a good book or bob around in the bay with your swim noodle.
Your overnight stop in the North Sound:
From Deep Bay, you will sail into an area of Antigua called the North Sound; home to Great Bird Island and numerous other offshore islands. Perfect for snorkeling, kayaking and relaxing. Hike up to the top of Great Bird Island on the trail and stand on the top of the island way above the ocean. Or anchor off the island of Hell’s Gate and snorkel the clear blue seas.
This is your overnight anchorage. You will cook and dine on board. All of our yachts come complete with full galley equipment plus refrigerator, stove – your home from home! Settle into your cabin and enjoy your first night at sea being rocked to sleep by the lapping waves. Remember your camera to take the beautiful sunset pics!
Antigua Itinerary Day 2
After a refreshing coffee and breakfast, your Captain will lift the anchor and sail to a choice of bays – either you will sail to Dickenson Bay and perhaps enjoy a lovely lunch at one of the restaurants ashore, or you will sail to Hermitage Bay. One the way, look out for dolphins, turtles and stingrays. Hermitage Bay is a secluded bay with un-spoilt beaches. Perhaps try your hand at kayaking or simply soak up the sunshine on board. Lunch at Hermitage Bay will be taken on board anchored in the peace and quiet of the bay.
After a final swim after lunch, your Captain will lift the anchor and sail you back to Jolly Harbour Marina where you will disembark with some lovely memories of your private sailing trip.
What do you need to bring?
Bring along your swimwear, sunglasses, sunscreen, hat and a change of clothes – that’s it! We provide all linens and towels on board. Your snorkel equipment is also provided, plus a hammock and swim noodles.
