Comments Off on BAVARIA supports the fleet “hope for children in need”

BAVARIA Yachts will support this year’s sunshine4kids initiative and presents a BAVARIA yacht for the cruise with the young people which is available in July.

The initiative sunshine4kids, has made its task to give children and young people who are in a difficult life situation some free lessons through sailing. This will aid their zest for life and give some used perspectives. BAVARIA will support this initiative this year for the first time and presents a yacht for the planned summer cruise – the so-called “hope fleet”. From the 18th to 27th July the hope fleet sails from Fehmarn to Travemünde.

The plan is to start with 100 children and young people on 30 boats. The 125th Anniversary of the Travemünde Week is also on between the 25 – 26th July in Travemünde and there on the big stage will be the band Schandmaul who will perform the sunshine4kids musical. “We think it’s great to see what sunshine4kids is doing for children and young people, which have had to experience a heavy blow or experience in their family. To enable these young people to participate in the hope fleet is a little escape from their difficult daily lives, we think BAVARIA’s contribution is very important and we very much support the sunshine4kids initiative”, explains Meik Lessig, Head of Sales at BAVARIA.

Miami Boat Show: BAVARIA reinforce their engagement in the USA

February 12, 2014

Comments Off on Miami Boat Show: BAVARIA reinforce their engagement in the USA

For its second exhibition debut in the US BAVARIA motorboat has chosen the biggest American exhibition: Miami Boat Show from the 13th to the 17th of February. BAVARIA first launched the motorboat range to the American public at the Fort Lauderdale Boat Show at the beginning of November to highlight their “Made in Germany“ high quality products. With the appearance at the Miami Boat show BAVARIA intensifies its engagement in the USA and sees some good opportunities for growth.

“For us, the USA is an important key market in the world where 170,000 motor and sailing yachts are sold on average per year. We see a great potential for the brand BAVARIA in the USA because the growth rates for the American market for the next years are clearly more than five percent. According to studies of the NMEA, 88 million Americans every year spend time on the water with an upward trend. The first boats have already been delivered by BAVARIA in the US. Now we want to develop our distribution network and our engagement further“, underlines Constantin von Bülow, CEO of BAVARIA.

The figures for the Miami Boat Show are impressive: more than 2,000 exhibitors will display 3,000 boats and yachts in the two marinas and convention centre. BAVARIA is also represented in both marinas with exhibition stands. In the Sea Isle Marina, the visitors are able to view the SPORT 39 HT and the VIRTESS 420 FLY on the BAVARIA stand, they are also able to arrange test runs after the show. The SPORT 44 HT fitted with Volvo Penta engines is also ready for a test run in Miami. The engine experts from Sweden also want to demonstrate the efficiency of the IPS drive system from Volvo Penta to the audience. Interested customers can call the stand phone number 813-781-8880 for a test run on the BAVARIA motor and sailing yachts.

In the Miamarina Bay Side where the sailing yachts are displayed you will find the Bavaria VISION 46. Together with her smaller sister, the VISION 42, these models have proven to be the most popular sailing yachts for the American clients from the German production line.

As per recent figures, the American market for yachts is in a further upward trend and the BAVARIA range of products seems to fulfill exactly the wishes of American customers. A high quality in manufacturing, an attractive design and the know-how of German engineers in every detail of a BAVARIA are the principal reasons for the purchase a yacht from German production.

“The American customer trusts in products from German production as has already been recognised for decades in the car market. German engineer’s art and high quality are also displayed in the yacht market in the US, BAVARIA strategy is to embody all this. A BAVARIA is built in the factory at Giebelstadt from the first to the last step of construction. We offer with some pride a “Made in Germany“ for our products“, explains Constantin von Bülow who recently reported a sales record of 102 BAVARIA yachts in nine days at the German exhibition Boot in Dusseldorf.

BAVARIA sets a new sales record

February 5, 2014

Comments Off on BAVARIA sets a new sales record

A total of 102 BAVARIA yachts were sold at “the boot” in Duesseldorf

Only a few days ago the boot in Dusseldorf finished and now the final results of probably the biggest boat fair of her kind in the world are on the table. BAVARIA enjoyed a staggering result with 102 customers deciding at the exhibition to buy a BAVARIA sailing yacht or motorboat. This is not only a new show sales record for BAVARIA itself, but also among 1,600 exhibitors at the boat Dusseldorf (from the 18th to the 26th of January), this result is one of the largest experienced at shows.

BAVARIA continues its successful strategy and is developing and extending its market share still further. All yachts ordered at the show are due to delivered during this season which not only secures jobs in Giebelstadt but allows for further recruitment in the future.

Three questions to Constantin von Bülow the CEO of Bavaria Yachtbau GmbH:

To sell 102 sailing and motor yachts in only nine days is quite an effort. Did you expect to achieve such a record?

Constantin von Bülow:

Already during the autumn boat shows in Europe we have seen a positive tendency towards our products at BAVARIA. However, with 102 clear orders on the boot we have surpassed our own expectations. It has shown that it was the right decision to present our complete range of products in Dusseldorf along with our 20 traders from 12 nations. In only 15 months we have put more than 10 new sailing yachts on the market and have provided our motor yacht lines with some attractive equipment packages. This is appreciated by the market now.

Did you previously know the customers that have placed orders at the boot?

Constantin von Bülow:

Not only owners and charter companies who already own a BAVARIA yacht before have now ordered new ones. We are more than happy to see new customers who have previously owned a yacht from one of our competitors who have now decided to switch and place an order for a new BAVARIA yacht as well as some who have not owned a yacht before.

What reasons do your customers give for buying a BAVARIA yacht?

Constantin von Bülow:

The high quality and the attractive design of our yachts were the most commonly mentioned purchase reasons that we heard from customers, which encourages us in our brand strategy and product development. We have invested a lot of time and money in these subjects because we are convinced that customers are not deceived today just by smart chic lines in the design during their purchase decision, but spend more time looking exactly at all the details of a yacht. We have found the perfect balance in the production with boatbuilding and more fashionably industrial manufacturing. We order only high-quality equipment from our suppliers. Put all this together and we get the right mix to successfully sell yachts. The development in the yacht sector has not finished yet, however, with BAVARIA we have achieved the range turnaround and our success at the boot in Dusseldorf proves this quite clearly.

Something old, something blue… in Antigua

Comments Off on Something old, something blue… in Antigua

Wherever you look when you are cruising Antigua and Barbuda, you will see the most amazing blue ocean and sky. Partly the reason that the colours are so vibrant in these cruising waters is the fact that most of the ocean bottom is made up of white sand around Antigua and Barbuda (hence so many beaches, too!).  Take a look at this photograph below – one of the many highlights of cruising the west coast cruising ground.  The blue of the Caribbean almost merges with the blue of the sky – just wonderful.

For something old, well you can’t go too far in Antigua and Barbuda without seeing one of the many sugar mills whilst you are out sailing; all left over from a bygone age.  Explore many of the hills above the charter anchorages by foot, and you will likely find a scattering of old ruins from Nelson’s Day, or perhaps an old canon, proudly looking out to sea.

Beach art? Or historic artefact?

Antigua and Barbuda offers the most perfect cruising grounds – choose to relax on the beach or scramble your way up the many hills around the anchorages to find your piece of history… something for everyone.

One of the best features that has been wowing our sailing guests booking this wonderful charter yacht, is the huge transom platform.  Almost the full width of the entire boat, this is a place to watch the sunset, enjoy your sundowners and wash the dog!  What an amazing use of space by Bavaria Yachts.  The transom comes up whilst you are sailing giving you a safe, enclosed cockpit area.

Far from the crowds; cruising Barbuda in the Caribbean

Far from the crowds in Barbuda; enjoy some well deserved R&R...

There’s nothing better than feeling the soft, cool sand between your toes and hearing the lap of the Caribbean Sea when you need some well deserved R&R.  That’s why Barbuda is such a perfect cruising destination.  On the west coast, you have Low Bay which is literally 11 miles of unbroken white/pink sand.  From time to time the beach looks an amazing pink; this is because it is made up from the tiniest of pink shells.

The pink sand at Low Bay, Barbuda.

So how do you reach this sailor’s paradise?  From the island of Antigua, Barbuda is around a four and a half hour sail – perfect for those charterers who do not want a full day of sailing but enjoy island-hopping.  Most of our guests will sail from Jolly Harbour up to either Deep Bay (where you can jump in and explore the wreck of the Andes) or even the more lively Dickenson Bay where you have such great restaurants as Coconut Grove and Pepperz n Lime.  From these two overnight anchorages, you then lift your anchor early the next morning and sail up to Barbuda.

Once in Barbuda, you can visit the Frigate Bird Sanctuary in the Lagoon – a guided boat tour showing you these amazing birds with their bright red colouring on display…

Or enjoy some local lobster at Uncle Roddy’s Lobster Shack (another overnight anchorage so do allow two nights in Barbuda to fully appreciate all it has to offer)…

Whichever way you decide to explore Barbuda; we know that you won’t be disappointed.  Paradise is waiting for you.
