Fountaine Pajot Saba 50
Welcome on board the new Fountaine Pajot catamaran model, the Fountaine Pajot Saba 50! Designed on the back of her smaller sister, (the hugely successful Helia 44) the Fountaine Pajot Saba 50 is the latest model in the range from the famous Cruising Catamaran Builder, Fountaine Pajot.
Sail Magazine awarded the Saba 50 best boat 2015 – you can read more here.
Configuration: 5 ensuite double cabins+ 1 en suite double crew cabin ( 4 double ensuite cabins version also available).
The designers Berret Racoupeau, have incorporated the main design features from the Helia, and the result is upscale perfection. Wide transoms lead to a cockpit and saloon which are on the same level, making for sure footedness underway, and a convivial al fresco living area at anchor. The raised helm position is brilliantly executed, as it gives excellent visibility underway, but still allows direct access and communication with crew in the cockpit and even the saloon…or with errant crew relaxing on the foredeck sunbathing lounge. All running rigging is led to a ‘sail control station’, just forward of the helm, so the Saba 50 can be sailed single handed if needed, easily done utilizing the electric winch and gang of clutched sheets and halyards, but without the lines actually cluttering the helm itself.
There is seating for 3 at the helm, and the upper decks lounge area allows for a very sociable and comfortable cruise in fair weather. With a companionway that slides wide open, and complete protection from the elements due to the coach roof and hard bimini, one can navigate from the comfort of the forward facing chart desk in the saloon if the weather turns inclement, but still be a few steps from the winches if a sail trim is required.
Mr. Jean Francois Fountaine was an Olympic sailor in the 470 Class, and his purist desire for performance is built into every Fountaine Pajot. Safety is also high on the priorities list, and like all Fountaine Pajot catamarans the Saba 50 has independently molded, sacrificial keels. In the event of a hard grounding which would see most cats disappear, the Fountaine Pajot sails away. What really makes this cat, the envy of the pride though, is the space on-board. The saloon and cockpit living areas both have companionways that lead to fabulous cabins. Four,or six en suite double cabins, make the Fountaine Pajot Saba 50 the most commodious in her class, with lashings of French-understated savoir faire.
The Saba 50 is destined to become a very successful yacht, whether generating revenue for owners in Horizons’ Bareboat charter fleet or Luxury Crewed Yacht fleet, delighting charter guests fortunate enough to have a week or more aboard in the vacation of a lifetime, or allowing the private purchaser a globe trotting sabbatical.
With 2 versions, MAESTRO or QUINTET (5 double cabins + 1 crew + 6 bathrooms), the Saba 50 meets the most discerning requirements.
Please contact us to discuss your requirements and we can build a specification to harness your dream. The Fountaine Pajot Saba 50 is available to purchase to place into charter or to own privately.
