Lagoon 440 Catamaran (2009) 'Sweet Chill'
We’re delighted to present our Lagoon 440 catamaran in Antigua, “Sweet Chill”. The Lagoon 440 catamaran continues to be one of the most popular cruising catamarans in the world, providing plenty of space for living, comfortable sailing and everything you need for a great Antigua sailing vacation. Charter guests love the fly-bridge design, making the Lagoon 440 a perfect cruising platform for Antigua & Barbuda.
In this owner’s version of the 440, the master stateroom lies in the starboard hull. An island double berth is aft with a padded headboard and a large window that uses one-way glass for privacy. The mid cabin has a settee, as well as more storage and a vanity with swing-out stool. Forward, the spacious head has a separate shower compartment. In the port hull, you will find two guest cabins, each with its own head and shower. You will always have plenty of natural light below decks and interior spaces will feel bright and airy. Optimal cabin ventilation is assured by numerous opening portholes and hatches. Once aboard you will notice the ample headroom in the salon and in the cabins of both hulls. The galley to starboard has plenty of counter space, twin stainless steel sinks and a three-burner propane stove. The Lagoon 440 comes standard with two fridge boxes in the galley and a third in the cockpit along with a wet bar and sink.
Our Lagoon 440 catamaran in Antigua “Sweet Chill” also features additional items for charter guest comfort, including:
- Air conditioning and Generator
- All-electric heads
- Raymarine E120W hybrid chartplotters (2)
- TV & DVD player
By incorporating a raised helmsman position, where the wheel is on the centerline and all sheets run to a central position, you have excellent visibility and convenience for the captain while at the same time the cockpit is opened up to make it a true lounging area for the crew. A chart plotter at the helm adds to the convenience. The aft cockpit is huge, it flows dynamically into the interior space of the saloon so you have an indoor-outdoor living plan that is perfect for the tropics. During the inevitable passing tropical shower, you are well protected by the hard top bimini over the cockpit and a custom made hard top over the helm station. The large cockpit table fits inside the huge U-shaped dinette and will easily seat up to eight for dinner and cocktails.
On deck there is plenty of space to stow your gear, as well as water toys like kayaks and stand up paddle boards. The water tanks aboard hold 240 gallons so you will always have plenty of fresh water for afternoon showers. The anchoring systems are simple and robust so you are able to set the hook with ease. The sailing rig offers plenty of power for a cruising boat so the 440 will sail happily at 8 to 10 knots in a good breeze. From the vantage point at the raised cockpit or flying bridge, you’re able to see sail trim clearly, and there is excellent visibility for navigating when docking in tight situations.
Whilst on the flybridge of this Lagoon 440 catamaran in Antigua, the custom hardtop bimini ensures protection from the hot, Caribbean sun.
