Carriacou Schooner 73 “Jambalaya” (2002)Your Crew
Peter and Sylvie have sailed the Windward and Leeward islands over the last several years on a variety of vessels and their passion for traditional sailing on their Carriacou Schooner will provide you with an exciting and relaxing cruising experience.
Their knowledge of the Caribbean sailing area is second to none and they are looking forward to sailing you to the best spots for great snorkelling, secluded sunbathing and water sports; ending the day with alfresco dining amid magnificent views.
Captain Peter Bennett, who hails from the UK, bought his first boat at the age of 26. After many adventures sailing the rocky shores of Western Europe, he set off on a five-year circumnavigation of the world relying on his celestial navigation skills to show him the way – this was before the days of GPS technology. Crossing the Atlantic his first land fall was the tropical islands of the West Indies. Peter transited the Panama Canal and sailed on to the South Seas, meeting the rough waters of New Zealand and the calm of Australia’s Great Barrier Reef. When all was said and done and thousands of miles had passed beneath his keel the Caribbean kept calling him back.
With his extensive experience, matched with his formal sailing qualifications, Peter considers the Caribbean to be the best holiday sailing location.
Chef Sylvie Bennett, is passionate about providing the best service and is a talented cook. Born in France, she has brought with her many French-cuisine recipes and has adapted them for local products: she will keep you well fed with her French flair for Creole and Caribbean specialties!
Besides her passion for cooking, Sylvie is also a qualified Indian Head masseuse and will be delighted to provide you with a massage on board Jambalaya! Sylvie speaks French, English and Spanish.
Carriacou Schooner 73 “Jambalaya” (2002)Watersports
Coral reefs rich with sealife can be found all around the Grenadine islands; the Tobago Cays alone has 4km of horseshoe reef ready for you to explore. Swim with green turtles and spotted eagle rays in clear, warm waters. If you would like to scuba dive during your charter Peter and Sylvie will be delighted to organise diving trips for you.
Spend your time with friends and family onboard, anchoring at deserted islands, do some fishing while you sail, practice your photography, or paint the stunning seascapes that surround you. Guests are encouraged to take the helm and generally help with the sailing, and Captain Peter is always happy to give sailing lessons.
Diving by arrangement / rendezvous. Snorkeling gear is available on the Carriacou Schooner “Jambalaya’.
