Entry Requirements

Before booking your trip to the BVI, it’s essential to be aware of the British Virgin Islands’ entry requirements. We’re pleased to provide up-to-date information to assist our charter guests in preparing for a smooth arrival.

BVI Entry Requirements Per Region

From passport and visa regulations to customs procedures, knowing what to expect ensures a hassle-free start to your sailing vacation. Be sure to review the latest guidelines and have all necessary documents ready well in advance of your travel dates.

Passports valid for at least 6 months are required for all US and Canadian nationals. Horizon Yacht Charters advises all guests to check requirements for travel from and to the USA on the US Department of State’s website.

The NEW BVI Customs & Immigration Portal

When you arrive in the BVI you’ll be required to fill out a customs and immigration form, however the BVI government has recently introduced an online system in the hopes to provide more convenience to travelers through all ports of entry. The portal works as follows:

  • Complete the online Immigration and Customs Form, which will be available 72 hours before you arrive in the British Virgin Islands.
  • Once the form is completed, the Immigration and Customs receipts are to be saved to your mobile device or printed and presented to Immigration and Customs upon arrival.
  • What you’ll need:
    • Flight Information
    • Passport of Passenger
    • Copy of Passport’s Biodata Page (PNG or JPEG file)
