Jeanneau 44 DS Sun Odyssey 'Sea Wolf' Features:
 

'Sea Wolf' tracks beautifully upwind.   In 16 knots true, she will truck along at 7 knots upwind and crack off to a reach and you will see 8 plus knots. The Jeanneau 44 DS has a 431 sq. ft roller furling mainsail and a 441 sq. ft genoa with an electric coach roof winch to furl the sails and with an autopilot, sailing Sea Wolf shorthanded is a breeze. With twin helms and a full suite of Raymarine electronics, including wind, depth, speed, and a 7” Axiom chart plotter, everything is ergonomically designed for easy navigation.

 

The owners are avid sailors and cruise extensively through the Caribbean, so Sea Wolf is set up for life aboard. With a 1000-watt solar array mounted above the bimini (which fully covers the cockpit), you have excellent battery charging capability - fast charging the Firefly battery bank in the Caribbean sunlight or via the 57hp engine or Genset.   You can monitor the solar charging on your smartphone through the Victron Controller and if it gets warm at night there is a generator and 3 zone air conditioning throughout the yacht.

 

The layout appeals to couples and families alike. The large owner’s stateroom is aft, and there is a 6ft 7” long x 6ft 3” wide queen-size bed (with new custom luxury foam mattress) on the centreline of the yacht, two hull windows, and a large opening port aft with two additional smaller opening ports providing light and ventilation.  There is an en-suite head and shower to port which incorporates a fold-out door enabling you to keep the head and basin area dry when showering. Accessible from both the aft cabin and the saloon, it also makes a convenient day head.

 

DS denotes “Deck Saloon” meaning the saloon breaks the deck line significantly with elegant ‘eyebrow’ windows, giving generous headroom and abundant light in the saloon, the defining feature of the yacht. The Franck Darnet interior combines materials and hues, angles, and surfaces to maximize interior space and functionality. The well-equipped L-shaped galley is starboard aft, Jeanneau's are always generous with their refrigeration space with 185 liters in the galley, incorporating a freezer compartment, with an additional 85-liter fridge/freezer under the chart table which is adjacent to the galley.  The galley is equipped with an oven (there is a gas grill on the stern), microwave, and coffee maker.  The chart table has 110V sockets for laptop use as well as USB ports, with the electrical panel above. The saloon seating is deep-set and comfortable. The saloon coffee table folds out to a full-size dining table and drops electrically to make the base of a double berth if required.

 

Port forward there is a double bunk cabin – good size singles for a larger complement of crew, or welcome additional storage space. The forward guest cabin has a 6ft 11” long by 5ft 11” wide double berth, and adjoining head and shower.  All of the cabins are equipped with air-conditioning, AC plugs, USB ports, and fans.
