The price of a yacht charter will depend on the type of yacht you choose, the destination, time of year, and whether you opt for a bareboat, learn to sail, captained, or fully crewed experience. Seasonal demand, yacht size, and included amenities such as a Captain, Chef, or water toys can also influence the overall cost.
Bareboat yacht charters or smaller yachts are typically the most cost-effective option, captained charters are somewhere in the middle, and fully crewed or all-inclusive charters reflect the added service and onboard experience. As a general guide, prices can range from a few thousand dollars per week for a smaller bareboat yacht to significantly more for larger, luxury crewed yachts in peak season.

What's included in a yacht charter will depend on the type of charter you choose. A bareboat charter typically includes the yacht itself, fully equipped with essential navigation equipment, safety gear, galley facilities, bed linen, and basic onboard amenities.
Crewed yacht charters have the option to include a Captain and/or a Chef, along with service throughout your trip. Some crewed or all-inclusive charters may also cover meals, beverages, fuel for standard cruising, and selected water toys.
Additional costs can vary by destination and charter type, but this will always be outlined in your charter contract. Our team is happy to answer any questions and provide a clear breakdown to ensure there are no surprises before you set sail.

We recommend booking your yacht charter as early as possible, particularly if you plan to travel during peak seasons or holidays. For popular destinations such as the British Virgin Islands or the Mediterranean, booking 6–12 months in advance ensures the best choice of yachts and availability.
For shoulder or quieter seasons, you may find availability closer to your preferred dates, but booking early still gives you more flexibility when selecting your yacht, itinerary, and any crew or add-ons.
If you have specific dates or a particular yacht in mind, securing your charter sooner rather than later is always advisable. Our team is happy to guide you based on your destination and travel window. You can check the live availability of our yachts using the 'check availability' button on individual listings.
The minimum charter length in most cases is 5 nights. In certain cases, particularly during quieter seasons or for last-minute bookings, shorter charters may be available. Where most charter companies restrict start and finish days to the weekends, with Horizon, you can start or finish your charter any day of the week!

When identifying the best crew configuration to fit your needs it helps to understand the differences between each arrangement.
If you’re interested in learning to sail as part of your trip, let our reservations team know, and we can include a Captain who’s comfortable teaching his crew how to sail. Even better, if you’d like to gain some certification during your trip, we can offer courses in the American Sailing curriculum.
We welcome any and all ages, group sizes and mobility levels. If you’ve got any special requests, be sure to mention these on your enquiry form and the reservations team will be sure to help accommodate these. We offer a netting round all of our boats for any small kids onboard to provide some additional protection.
For any larger than normal group sizes, we can offer tandem charters with more than one boat at extremely favourable rates.
Absolutely, we offer check-out skippers at a rate of $275/ day.
