At Horizon Yacht Charters, our commitment to yacht care doesn’t end when the sailing season slows down. In fact, the off-season is when our team doubles down for deep maintenance, ensuring every yacht in our fleet remains in peak condition.
Whether you’re planning your next charter or you’re interested in owning a yacht tax & tariff-free through Horizon Yacht Sales, you can rest assured your yacht receives the highest level of attention—even when the rest of the BVI is winding down.
Our qualified mechanics carry out complete servicing on all engines, generators and compressors. Oil and fuel filter changes, belts, cooling systems, seacocks and through hull fittings - we make sure every mechanical, electrical and electronic component is inspected, tested, and serviced. This proactive approach maximizes reliability when the yacht is out on the water in the next season.
We are committed to protecting the marine environment and across the last six years we have tested a number of premium eco-friendly and biocide-free products for antifouling. A third of our fleet now has biocide free antifouling, that is proving more effective and longer lasting than conventional paints. This keeps yachts performing at their best under sail and power, with less emissions.
Every yacht undergoes a full inventory check. Items are repaired or replaced so that everything from safety gear to galley essentials meet our high standards. While we’re ready to action special requests year round, the end of season also gives us the opportunity to add any miscellaneous upgrades requested by owners.
A sparkling-clean yacht isn’t just about aesthetics—it’s about health and comfort. Our crews perform a full deep clean and sterilization of every interior and exterior space, preparing the boat for the rigorous post-charter in-season cleaning regimen that singles out the Horizon fleet from the competition.
All our fleet yachts include a 10 ft or 12 ft RIB with 15HP outboard engine. At the end of the season, each is inspected for wear and tear of the inflatable tubes and state of the fiberglass hull and repairs undertaken as required. The dinghies get a deep clean and UV protectant applied to the Hypalon tubes. The outboard engines are removed, inspected, serviced and stored safely until the start of the new season.
