Discovering Boating at the Miami International Boat Show with Horizon Yacht Sales

The annual Discover Boating Miami International Boat Show is always an important event in the Horizon Yacht Sales event calendar. We’ve been attending DBMIBS for 10 years as the authorized dealers for the English speaking Caribbean for Nautitech and Bavaria yachts and sellers of Lagoon, Fountaine Pajot, Excess catamarans and Jeanneau, Beneteau and Dufour yachts.

This year, DBMIBS took place February 12 – 16 and our days were spent meeting and touring popular yachts with a mix of past, present and potential owners. With six of our team members in attendance—four flying in from the BVI, one from the UK, and one from Annapolis—we were well-positioned at the Nautitech and Lagoon stands to make the most of the event.

Connecting with Our Community

From back-to-back appointments, tours, and meetings, we had a satisfyingly productive time connecting with sailors, yacht lovers and industry professionals who share our same passion for the sea. It was an absolute pleasure to see familiar faces, including longtime past-owners and friends, Susan and Law, previous owners of Livin’ Wright, a Bavaria 46 in the Horizon BVI charter fleet, who have made it a tradition to visit us at every boat show for the past 10 years. We also caught up with current owners Mike from Seas’d Up and Bob and Amanda from Detour, reinforcing the strong relationships and community that makes Caribbean yacht ownership with Horizon yacht charters so special. 

Heading Out on Miami Waters

We had the distinct pleasure of taking part in a sea trial on the Nautitech Open 44, where her performance and comfort underscored everything that makes this model a top choice for our clients in all waters. Taking note of the latest yacht models on display at DBMIBS, we made sure to step aboard each and familiarize ourselves with the design, layouts and distinguishing features to keep ahead of industry trends and guide our buyers in making the best choice for their wants and needs.

Living it up in Miami

We know boating is not just about sailing – we’re authorized dealers for Invincible Yachts – so made sure to scoot over to the Powerboat Show to see what’s new and explore the deluxe yachts on display. Of course, no Miami Boat Show experience would be complete without enjoying the city’s vibrant lifestyle and we definitely experienced some incredible dinners with owners and industry friends. Miami provided the perfect backdrop for both business and pleasure—an exciting change of pace from island life and an opportunity to network in a dynamic setting.

A Successful Event for Horizon Yacht Sales 

All in all, despite the 2025 DBMIBS being a quieter event compared to previous years, it was well worth the time and effort for the Horizon Yacht Sales team. We strengthened relationships, made new connections and helped our clients take the next steps towards realising their yacht ownership aspirations. Until next time, Miami!
