Helia 44 Quatuor (SVG) (2018) 'Altair'
Overview

Helia 44 Charter CatamaranOur St Vincent cruising catamaran – the Helia 44 Charter Catamaran ‘Altair’– invites you to cruise in harmony with the beauty of your surroundings.

The Helia 44 Charter Catamaran ‘Altair’ Features:

Designed for maximum living space and boasting beautiful natural light throughout its interior, this elegant and luxuriously appointed catamaran also delivers a dynamic performance at sea.

Immerse yourself in the panoramic 360° views made possible by the expansive saloon windows and integrated mast foot, marvel at the responsive handling in the spacious helm station, or surrender your cares as you relax in the cockpit or indulgent lounge deck. This cruising catamaran now has new features including an extra cockpit bench seat and additional davits. This catamaran also has a propane Barbecue to help maximise your outdoor living!

The Fountaine Pajot designers have provided a level deck to walk between the cockpit and the saloon, which opens up to give a true al fresco ambience to the saloon at anchor, terrific communication and conviviality between the saloon, cockpit and helm position underway. The helm position is unique, in the way that it is both parts of the cockpit, and part of the upper deck, which enables the skipper ( and two others) to sit at the helm, with unhindered 360-degree vision, whilst at the same time, being connected with the crew and activity in the saloon and cockpit. Next to the helm position is a sun deck, which makes for very sociable sailing.

All sailing control lines are led back to the winches just forward of the helm position on this Helia 44. The design allows Captain or crew to handle the sails, without cluttering the helm position itself with lines. With a powerful autopilot, and electric winch to hoist the mainsail, this yacht is easily sailed short-handed, and her 1,237 sq. ft of sail area, coupled with a 10.8-ton displacement, and outstanding bridge deck clearance, makes her fast and comfortable under sail

Worthy of Fountaine-Pajot’s prestigious Flagship status, the Helia 44 Charter Catamaran represents an entirely new level in cruising lifestyles.

Sara and Darryl, May 2021

Hello Horizon BVI team,

Just wanted to reach out and thank you again for everything! Although it was a little different this time around we made it through all the hoops and had an amazing time! We missed spending time person to person with you ladies in the office but all was handled in such an organized manner! Jalon and Henry were very helpful in meeting our last-minute requests! We will be back!! Take care and wishing for everyone around the world that we soon put this pandemic behind us and get back to normal! Keep the vaccinations going!

Until next time!

Laura & Jeff Gillham, February 2019

Overall FANTASTIC experience! From booking to making arrangements online, to the on-site service and experience at Nanny Cay, we could not have asked for more. Our boat, ALTAIR was incredible and for our family of 9, we couldn’t have been more comfortable. The kitchen is outfitted with every possible appliance and cooking utensil you could ask for. And the living space was spacious and perfect for group dining and interaction. The sleeping quarters and bathrooms were impeccable. The team at Horizon provided first class service at every interaction, and when we had a slight issue with our tender, they had a part to us and had it fixed within a few short hours. The boat briefing was really well done and “extra” briefing on fishing for our kids was most appreciated.

We loved every minute and are counting the days until we can return again. We won’t charter through anyone else but Horizon after this experience. Well done, Team Horizon!

Gary, November 20th - November 28th 2021

We’ve been home a week since our charter ended and I just wanted to reiterate how much we really enjoyed our experience with your team at Horizon. Courtney, Jalon and Henry were great to work with, the boat was better than described, and the whole week went by way too fast! We look forward to our next charter with Horizon.

Darren Jiron, January 4th - January 16th 2022

Horizon is our favourite charter company in the BVI; Wouldn’t use anyone else!

Michael S. Lewis, February 3rd - February 10th 2022

Thanks so much. We had a great experience and will be sure to leave a great Google review.

Daniel Hulsizer, 22nd January

The crew at Horizon are top-shelf.

Brian Waller, BVI 18-23 Feb 2023

We had a great time, and once again, I was treated very well by everyone at HYC!

See you again in a month!

What’s included in my yacht charter?

What's included in my charter

We want your sailing vacation with Horizon Yacht Charters to be as relaxing as possible. So, to help you prepare for your holiday charter we provide a handy starter kit – the following list gives you a good idea of what’s included on our comprehensively equipped yachts so you know what you may need to bring with you – and perhaps more importantly, what you don’t!

You may also enjoy our blog post on packing pointers for your sailing vacation.

What’s Included

Your St Vincent yacht charter will include:

  • A complimentary starter kit on arrival containing such things as a bottle of rum, coke, water, wash up liquid, small soaps, paper napkins, trash bags, 1 roll toilet paper per head, matches and a bag of ice in the fridge
  • Linens and towels (beach, bath, face & hand) for your use during the charter, as well as spares should you wish to change sheets or need more towels.
  • We provide you with printed clearance forms for your use so you don’t need to fill them in or bring your own.
  • Full fuel and water tanks at the start of charter. You will pay for dinghy gas at the charter start and then fuel used at the end of charter at the marina office.

Yacht Equipment

Our yachts are extremely well equipped for your comfort and a short list of equipment is below. Please note equipment can vary from boat to boat, especially from the smallest to biggest. Please don’t hesitate to ask, and we can normally accommodate extra requests at a small fee depending on the item.

  • Chart plotter. All our boats have plotters, many of them are mounted at the wheel. For makes and models please ask.
  • Other electronics – depth and speed, and in most cases wind instruments.
  • Autopilot
  • All boats either carry a built in inverter or a small portable unit. Most boats are 110V but some are 220V. These days most charging equipment/ laptops etc. will take dual voltage.
  • Safety equipment. All our boats are well equipped with lifejackets, liferaft, flares, fire extinguishers, fire blanket, VHF radio, through hull plugs, first aid kit, flashlights.
  • Navigation equipment – charts, nav tools, binoculars.
  • Dinghy and outboard motor, normally 5hp for monohulls and 9.8 or 15hp for cats.
  • BBQ Grill (charcoal)
  • Bimini and in most boats a dodger
  • Electric windlass on all boats
  • Refrigeration and bigger boats may also have a freezer
  • Pillows, linens and towels
  • Clothes pegs
  • Stereo with CD player and aux input for i-pod or storage device
  • Tool Kit
  • Cockpit cushions
  • Cooler
  • All galley and cooking utensils

Find Your Rate Check out our special offers

Please note we have 5 nights minimum and 7 nights min between Dec 18 and Jan 4.

Did you know Horizon’s charters start and finish at noon? This means we can get you out sailing your first afternoon after your briefings – remember to watch your video briefings to speed up your check out! At the end of your trip, you sail back to Nanny Cay to refuel and debrief before your noon departure. This gives you a full 6 nights/7 days chartering around our beautiful islands, unlike some companies that start at 5pm, meaning you will have to sleepaboard* at the docks, and then finish at 10am, again meaning you will probably have to stay overnight on the docks the night before you leave to fly home.

*If available, a sleep aboard can be added the night before your charter start for a small supplement, boarding your yacht after 5pm.
