Tiago Palma – Captain

Captain Tiago Palma was born in Lisbon, Portugal. Tiago started sailing at only 6 years old. He studied Oceanography and has extensive experience sailing, diving, windsurfing, and sport fishing in some of the best locations around the world with 3 Grandees caught. In the summer of 1996, he joined the yachting industry in Portugal as a deckhand and after two years became a Captain. Tiago has vast charter cruising experience ranging from the Caribbean to the Mediterranean, the Pacific waters off Costa Rica, Panama, and even the remote waters off west and east Africa.
Tiago is a consummate mariner providing his guests with a safe and memorable experience. In his spare time, Tiago’s passions are photography, diving, fishing, and travelling the world.

 

Jacob Sirowitz- Deckhand

Growing up in New York, Jacob was very involved in school activities; learning as a theatre tech, and building sets for school productions. Always loving and wanting to travel he came to Florida to join the world of yachting. Jacob has worked with Captain Tiago on the previous Aqua Life, and it is nice to welcome him back on board. Jacob has great interest and skill in boating and various water sports, he is looking forward to ensuring your trip is a success.

 

Jaime Jaramillo – Chef

Watching his grandmother in the kitchen for several hours a day chef Jaime Jaramillo developed a deep passion for cooking at an early age. After graduating from culinary school at the Art Institute in Ft Lauderdale he began working in fine dining in several country clubs in Boca Raton. He then became really interested in the sourcing of his produce and decided to move to New England (Maine and New Hampshire) where he discovered the true sense of locally sourced and farm-to-table dining. Upon returning back to sunny Florida he embarked himself in the Gastro bar scene working at the rebel House in Boca and then becoming the executive chef of 3rd & 3rd in Delray Beach for almost 4 years. Following his restaurant ventures, he decides to become a private chef as well as a consultant chef. He joined the yachting industry in December 2018 where he works as a freelance chef currently on board of M/Y ‘Aqua Life’ where he’s doing the winter season throughout the Caribbean.

 

Claudia Vieira – Stewardess

Claudia was born on a Portuguese island, S. Miguel in the Azores archipelago where she developed a love for the sea.
She joined the yacht industry in the Mediterranean and fast grow her skills and passion for her work. Claudia has a degree in Social Education which, along with her personality, makes her an excellent public and human relations. Claudia is looking forward to providing you with great service delivered with a smile to make your holiday memorable. Onboard, you will find she is very happy to assist you in any way possible to make your stay aboard ‘AQUA LIFE’ enjoyable and unforgettable.

Luxury Crewed Charter Rates

The Horizon Yacht Charters BVI Crewed Charter rates are for 7 nights per vessel and are based on the number of guests. Please see individual yacht pages for detailed specifications and charter rates. Horizon Yacht Charters luxury crewed yacht charters come complete with your own personal Captain & Chef (and in the larger yachts, first mate and hostess).  NB some yachts may be skipper only (with the option of a chef) – they are stated as such. Your meals aboard are included in the rate and prepared to your group’s individual preferences and dietary requirements. Beverages are also included but please note special requests for specific brands may be subject to an additional charge.  Watersports equipment (such as paddleboards, kayaks etc) are also included and some yachts offer all-inclusive diving.

High season rates typically apply from December to April, and Low season from May to November, but please do check the seasonal rates for your yacht.

Each individual crewed yacht may charge for certain additional expenses (e.g. National Park Permit, Cruising permit, different port collections or departures).  Please ask for a full breakdown of costs for your chosen yacht. Additional supplements may apply at Christmas and New Year.

All yachts come with tenders with outboards and safety equipment. Please review the individual yacht specification on our website for further details of available equipment and details of inclusions and exclusions.

Yacht photographs and specifications act as a guide and are for information purposes only.  Although we endeavour to ensure that images are accurate reflections of the yachts in our fleet, certain aspects may vary slightly.

Please note that our bareboat repeat client discount does not apply to our crewed charter fleet.

Supplements to the published rates may apply during Christmas and New Year periods. Please contact us for confirmation of rates.

Charter Rates shown above are for 7 nights per vessel (Christmas and New Year supplements on selected yachts). Crewed Charters usually start at noon and finish at noon, but please do check times for your particular yacht.

An Environmental levy of $10 per head is payable by all visitors to the BVI on arrival (effective 1st Sept 2017).

Bookings and Cancellations – We require a 50% deposit to confirm the reservation and the balance due of 50% no later than 45 days prior to charter start date. A smaller deposit and interim fee may be acceptable for bookings made more than 12 months in advance. Cancellation fees apply, and vary from yacht-to-yacht. Please check the specific terms for your yacht at the time of booking.
