Crew Profiles:
CAPTAIN: Christopher Griffiths – British
Chris grew up in the English countryside in a small town not too far from London. After finishing high school Chris was scouted to compete for Team GB’s ski team, which he successfully pursued for a few years, sadly after various injuries Chris could no longer compete.
Chris then tried to work in real estate in London but due to Chris’s natural hard working attitude an office sit down job didn’t quite work out, which is what lead him to work at sea with his partner Emma. Chris found his home working on yachts and gradually climbed up the ladder starting as deckhand to now excelling at being the Captain of Long Monday. Chris never said no to hard work and enjoys every aspect of the active work and life at sea. He has never looked back since!
Having spent 3 years working on his last yacht, Chris places a lot of value on loyalty and had the owners not sold the boat he and his partner Emma would still be there. He hopes to be able to follow in the same footsteps on Long Monday.
In Chris’s spare time he loves to dive and explore under water, participating and teaching people watersports, adventuring, and playing any sport such as tennis, golf and swimming.

CHEF/STEWARDESS: Emma Friedlander – British
Emma grew up in London, which is where her desire to be at sea came from. She constantly sought the water and completed her swimming championships winning various awards at a young age.
After studying a Bachelor in Psychology and a Masters in Hypnotherapy in London Emma felt she had outgrown the city (and the rain), which is why she moved to Palma with her partner Chris to work on a yacht together. This love for the sea grew further and she and Chris both quickly realized working on a yacht was their match.
Emma has worked in the yachting industry for over three years, in the Mediterranean, America and The Bahamas. Emma is always smiling and positive and definitely believes anything is possible and saying “No” should be kept to a bare minimum. She places a lot of value on attention to detail, great tasting food and ultimately making sure her guests are happy and relaxed, have all their needs met and feeling as comfortable as they would in their own home. Emma strives to provide the highest level of food tailored to each guest’s personal preferences with a smile on her face.
In Emma’s spare time she of course enjoys cooking, creating and following her own recipes, reading, exploring, travelling, diving and water sports.

February 2020Thank you for taking such good care of us this trip. From the delicious food to the dinghy rides and everything was perfect! You and Chris are always carrying a smile on your faces which makes my family and I very happy. This trip with you guys has been awesome and hopefully we can come back next year! Travelling to Anguilla, St Maarten and St Barths was so much fun! You and Chris have so much positivity towards making your guests happy. It means a lot to us. Thanks for everything!
February 2020Our week on Long Monday was the best vacation of our lives. The boat is beautiful. Our accommodations were outstanding, the stops at different snorkeling spots and meals were delightful. But the best were the fabulous meals prepared by Emma on the boat. Everything was delicious and fresh. Breakfast, lunch and dinner was so good many times we preferred to stay on the boat than to go to a restaurant. Captain Chris knew just the right places for gorgeous sunsets and private overnight coves. Truly a dream vacation and we plan to do it again soon. We felt safe, secure, full and happy. Highly recommended!
January 2020When reality exceeds expectations. Long Monday is a beautiful, and extremely comfortable power catamaran. We were amazed by the way it sails so smoothly. This was enhanced by the crew who were the embodiment of perfection. First of all, they accepted having our two dogs on board which for us made our holiday even better. They took care of each one of us perfectly anticipating each of our needs, even the ones we didn’t think of. Not only that, but also they were lovely with the dogs making all of us even more comfortable. Chris, we felt secure at all times with you and all your knowledge and fun made it a great trip, you are an amazing captain! Emma… your food was just delicious at all times and your sweetness made everyone smile. Thank you for making our first Caribbean trip a perfect trip. August 2019Our stay on Long Monday was spectacular. From the moment we stepped on the boat, to the moment we left – we couldn’t have asked for a better charter. We caught up with the boat in Naples and set out to explore the Mediterranean. Our first stop was the picturesque harbour on Procida were we enjoyed paddle boarding, and the following morning, the mud baths and spas on Ischia – it was more than we ever expected. We ventured onto Capri and then hit the Amalfi Coast from there. The boat itself is beautiful and staterooms are well thought out and all have their own bathroom. Every detail on the boat is perfect and Chris was always willing to explain the navigation technology on the boat, what it does and how it works. We had a good balance of Chris and Emma suggesting stops, activities and restaurants, but the flexibility to pave our own path and find new hidden gems. Emma was always able to get reservations upon our request which was much appreciated. The dining areas are well thought out so you can dine al fresco on the top deck, eat a beautiful meal on the aft deck or hunker down inside if the weather is acting up. Chris and Emma were amazing. Our food was delicious and the cocktails even better. The ability to hop into the tender and have Chris take us ashore was great as well. (Our highlight was inner tubing through the famous Faraglioni rocks on Capri.) It was a dream charter, a dream boat, and a dream team that guided us through our best Med vacation we have had yet.
July 2019Thank you, Long Monday Crew, for an unforgettable, once in a lifetime trip along the Amalfi Coast. The boat is beautiful, and the crew provided upstanding service. Emma and Chris were so accommodating and willing to make changes to the schedule based on our preferences. The flexibility allowed us to see many beaches and stops along the coast that would otherwise be difficult to reach. The boast has several relaxing, lounging areas to read and take in the sites. The food was delicious… waking up and having breakfast on the boat with gorgeous 360 – degree views was a highlight. I highly recommend this crew for a custom trip.
AmazingWe are very thankful for having the opportunity of enjoying Long Monday for a week. We had the best time of our lives. The boat is amazing, great taste and style, every detail is taken care of. From the linens, and beautiful decoration, to the candles and nice smell in every room. It is impeccably taken care of. We fell in love with Long Monday, and wish to enjoy it again soon. But most importantly the crew exceeded our expectations. They provided an outstanding level of service and always had a welcoming smile. They had every detail covered. They went above and beyond to ensure the best possible experience. Chris and Emma really made a difference in our vacation. They are both the nicest, most professional people we have had the privilege of knowing. The table was always set beautifully. The food was amazing, great flavours and excellent presentation. They both are great cooks. They always offered to help and provided useful information and tips of the towns, spots to see and restaurants to visit. They were always willing to go to new places, and grant us our wishes. They were always thinking in more ways to make our week a very special and unique one. They are great photographers as well, so we were lucky enough to receive beautiful pictures matching the beautiful experience and boat we enjoyed that week. Also, and very important, Chris is an excellent Captain, he knows what he is doing, and you can tell he’s been at this for a long time and has a lot of experience. We always felt completely safe with them which was very important to us. Thank you for sharing your boat with us. We truly enjoyed it. We are looking forward to repeating this experience in the near future.

Luxury Crewed Charter Rates
The Horizon Yacht Charters BVI Crewed Charter rates are for 7 nights per vessel and are based on the number of guests. Please see individual yacht pages for detailed specifications and charter rates. Horizon Yacht Charters luxury crewed yacht charters come complete with your own personal Captain & Chef (and in the larger yachts, first mate and hostess). NB some yachts may be skipper only (with the option of a chef) – they are stated as such. Your meals aboard are included in the rate and prepared to your group’s individual preferences and dietary requirements. Beverages are also included but please note special requests for specific brands may be subject to an additional charge. Watersports equipment (such as paddleboards, kayaks etc) are also included and some yachts offer all-inclusive diving.
High season rates typically apply from December to April, and Low season from May to November, but please do check the seasonal rates for your yacht.
Each individual crewed yacht may charge for certain additional expenses (e.g. National Park Permit, Cruising permit, different port collections or departures). Please ask for a full breakdown of costs for your chosen yacht. Additional supplements may apply at Christmas and New Year.
All yachts come with tenders with outboards and safety equipment. Please review the individual yacht specification on our website for further details of available equipment and details of inclusions and exclusions.
Yacht photographs and specifications act as a guide and are for information purposes only. Although we endeavour to ensure that images are accurate reflections of the yachts in our fleet, certain aspects may vary slightly.
Please note that our bareboat repeat client discount does not apply to our crewed charter fleet.

Charter Rates shown above are for 7 nights per vessel (Christmas and New Year supplements on selected yachts). Crewed Charters usually start at noon and finish at noon, but please do check times for your particular yacht.

An Environmental levy of $10 per head is payable by all visitors to the BVI on arrival (effective 1st Sept 2017).
Bookings and Cancellations – We require a 50% deposit to confirm the reservation and the balance due of 50% no later than 45 days prior to charter start date. A smaller deposit and interim fee may be acceptable for bookings made more than 12 months in advance. Cancellation fees apply, and vary from yacht-to-yacht. Please check the specific terms for your yacht at the time of booking.
