Maverick is our 2017 Bavaria 34 charter yacht designed by Farr Yacht design to be a capable family cruiser. 
 
Built to a high German standard in Germany itself, Maverick has a roller furling main and genoa, with all control lines easy to hand in the cockpit. The genoa winches have been moved aft to ensure easy trimming by the helm or crew, meaning you can be under full sail in just a few minutes. As the 34 carries her beam well aft, she benefits from twin wheels – great for helming visibility, with the added bonus of direct access to the transom swim platform, without any clambering around a single wheel. A full Garmin electronics suite, including a cockpit chart plotter, makes navigation a breeze. 
 
Below decks, Maverick has beautiful Sipo Mahogany joinery and finishings, light oak-colored cabin sole, and cream real leather upholstery. The galley, with stove, hob, and fridge is to starboard and with three surprisingly generous double cabins, there is more than enough room for family and friends. Her galley also comes equipped with a kettle, french press and toaster and she has a coal BBQ on board - ideal for meals on the water. The 34 is responsive on the helm, easily sailed short-handed, and is the perfect yacht for a fabulous week (or more) of cruising around the islands.

From the very first glance, Venturi captivates with her pure lines, generous interior volume, and spacious cockpit. Her twin-wheel configuration allows for direct walk-through access to her swim platform. Designed by Marc Lombard, the 349 is the perfect combination of performance, comfort, and safety at sea. Whether in the cockpit or at the helm, at anchorage, or at sea, you will enjoy taking full advantage of this easy-to-handle and rewarding-to-sail yacht. Venturi has a deep draft 6ft 6in keel which gives her a great sailing performance. Twin rudders give fabulous tracking and ‘feedback’, making her a real joy to helm.

 

Her 2 cabin and 1 head layout includes a spacious forward V-berth cabin and a large double berth aft cabin. The double door to the master cabin, when open, expands the overall feeling of space below. Each cabin has shelves around the bed for storage and a closet with hanging space. There is a dry head with a separate shower unit. In place of a 3rd cabin, there is a huge amount of storage space, perfect for bulkier items.

 

The saloon has an impressive 6ft 3in of headroom and includes a folding table with plenty of seating. There is a dedicated aft-facing Navigation station that uses the saloon settee as a seat. The L-shaped galley to starboard is compact and functional with a single sink near the centerline, a two-burner stove and top-loading refrigeration. There is cleverly designed storage behind the saloon seats and in easy-access lockers around the saloon. With two cabins, a spacious saloon, a very functional galley (including 100 litres of refrigeration space), and an incredibly bright, well-lit interior, Venturi is perfect for a week or two aboard.

                    [post_content] => Designed by Marc Lombard, Minx, our Jeanneau Sun Odyssey 349 is the perfect blend of performance, comfort, and safety at sea. She is a comfortable cruiser, ideal for couples or young families, and an easy, fun and rewarding yacht to explore the BVI. Her roller mainsail and jib allow you to set full sail in under a minute and with a full suite of Raymarine electronics, including a chart plotter and autopilot she's bound to be a smooth sail.

 

Her bimini provides good cockpit coverage, and a nice drop-down transom/swim platform with an integrated swim ladder allows for easy access to the dinghy (or the 83-degree water). Minx is a great boat to be aboard, under sail or at anchor. This Jeanneau 349's hull has a hard chine that runs from well before the mid-ships all the way aft adding stability underway. Her reverse deck sheer adds to her sleek look and increases interior volume. The shoal draft keel draws 4ft 10in and her twin rudders give fabulous tracking and ‘feedback’, making her a real joy to helm. The twin wheel configuration and no backstay gives a clear walkthrough to the companionway through the spacious cockpit. The wide swim platform offers easy boarding and the extra outside living space this platform adds at anchor is impressive. Rhythm & Blues, our Jeanneau Sun Odyssey 440 was designed by Jean-Marc Piaton and Rafael Bonet. As a 2 cabin/2 head model, she appeals to smaller groups looking to sail in spacious luxury. True innovation is rare in yacht design but the new Jeanneau “walk-around” yachts – including the Jeanneau Sun Odyssey 440 deliver it in boatloads. The “walk-around” side deck slopes gently down towards the helm station on each side so that there is no more clambering over thwarts and coamings to get from the cockpit to the side deck – you simply walk around the helm. The helm itself has forward-facing seats so you can helm without having to twist your body and crane your neck.

 

The coamings are both hinged so you can fold them out to make daybeds on either side. In the case of the starboard pad, it can extend all the way to the cockpit table (with a filler cushion). The cockpit table is also offset slightly allowing a straight walk-through passage even when one of the table leaves is open. The twin wheels, wide split backstay, and extra-large swim platform offer easy boarding and clear access to the companionway. The engine start panel is incorporated into the central cockpit table together with the autopilot, compass, table/transom, and light controls. Horizon adds electric Harken winches operated directly from the cockpit and short-handed sailing is easy, safe, and stress-free. The Yanmar 45hp pushes the easily driven hull at 7.5 knots cruising speed. She also has a third convertible cabin which can either be used for storage or can come with a double bed to be used as another cabin.

Starting at the stern, an extra-large swim platform offers easy boarding and with twin helms, there is clear access through the cockpit to the companionway. The cockpit has a classic look with teak decks under the shade of the bimini. The new design continues to build on the successful ‘Open’ concept whilst delivering a ‘wide grin’ sailing performance, making her probably the fastest cruising catamaran available for a bareboat charter. She can point higher than any other cruising cat (that does not have daggerboards -which consume interior space), thanks to her high aspect sail plan, tight sheeting angles, high aspect rudders, a draft of 4ft 9“and an excellent sail area to displacement ratio. The Open 44 remains stable, comfortable, and downright fun to sail on and off the wind.

The low wetted surface area enabled by narrow, hydrodynamic hulls below the waterline allows for optimized cruising speeds while the hard-chined stepped hulls above the waterline give more interior living space. With the double aft helm station positions, you have an unobstructed view of the sails and the sea and you can communicate and enjoy the sailing with all the crew members in the cockpit. A change from the Open 40 design, the lower mainsheet track positioning is easy to see and adjust for perfect sail trim from the helm station. A low boom above the coach roof allows for extra efficiency from the mainsail, more sail area and easy access to the sail bag. The high aspect furling, and self-tacking jib, with all control lines led aft to electric winches for both sails, means the 44 Open is a breeze to sail short-handed.

The interior of the 44 Open is complete with rich joinery which gives a warm and modern ambience aboard. The cockpit flows seamlessly into the saloon (the ethos of the Open concept) giving you the ideal indoor/outdoor living space for a yacht in the tropics. The galley conjoins the saloon and cockpit, so matter where the crew are, the chef is part of the socialising. Her galley comes equipped with a kettle, french press, blender, toaster, microwave and coffee machine. There is excellent fridge capacity aboard with a double-drawer fridge, cockpit fridge and a freezer unit.

The interior saloon area is cosy and offers a modular seating arrangement with cushioned cubes that can be moved around into a day bed, a footrest, or stools. With an almost 360-degree view from the entrance of the saloon, you can happily escape inclement weather or socialize at the cockpit table whilst still being able to keep an eye on your surroundings.

The owner’s cabin, located in the port hull, is light and spacious with portlights along the length of the cabin. The bed is a full island queen and there is plenty of storage in lockers and drawers. The starboard hull features 2 cabins. The aft cabin has a queen-sized island bed and the forward cabin has a forward-facing double bed. There is also a single in the starboard forepeak that can be accessed from both the top deck and the starboard forward cabin. The companionway is seamlessly integrated with extra storage lockers. Both hulls have separate toilet and shower units to allow for easy living between guests. The toilet unit also has its own hand basin.

There are solar panels mounted on the dinghy davits as well as an integrated solar array on the coach roof. This removes the requirement to run your engine or generator to charge the lithium batteries on board on sunny days. There is also a Rainman watermaker available for use onboard. The Rainman is capable of producing up to 40 gallons of water per hour meaning that your itinerary is not influenced by your water consumption.

The Fly 46 has proven incredibly popular for charter in the Caribbean, due to her immense outdoor living space; the “open” concept where sliding doors between the cockpit lounge and saloon merge both of them into one large living space. As well as the best-in-class Flybridge, where 10 can sit comfortably, with a table and cooler drawer for drinks under the helm seat. Her performance also remains best in class with an easily managed furling mainsail and furling, self-tacking jib, all controls are led to the helm position, with touch button electric winches. Her cockpit also comes equipped with a gab BBQ, perfect for making the most of those evenings in the BVI!

As you step into Luna a forward-facing nav station and rear-facing galley conjoins the saloon to the cockpit for convivial cheffing. Her galley comes equipped with a kettle, french press, blender, toaster, microwave, coffee machine and counter top ice maker. In both hulls, you’ll find 2 double berths to comfortably sleep 4 people. Each cabin has its own head which can also be used as a wet head to shower in, however, there is also a separate centre shower unit which can be accessed from either head. All the heads on board are electric and there is air conditioning in the saloon and in every cabin. There are two forepeak cabins on board, these can be accessed through a hatch on the deck or through a hatch in the forward cabins. There is a blind on both sides between the forepeak and forward cabins and the forepeak features mattresses large enough to sleep one person. They do not have their own head or air conditioning but the air conditioning units in the forward cabins are powerful enough to cool both cabins if the hatch between the two is left open.

Cadenza's upgraded B&G electronics boast a 12” chart plotter at the helm, and another at the Nav station. Autopilot, Wind, forward scanning depth sounder. This Marc Lombard design has class beating fineness of hull ratio – think Hobie cat with accommodation when it comes to volume and performance. She kicks her heels, and as Marc Lombard confirmed in conversation with Andrew Thompson of Horizon, above 16 knots, there is no penalty in speed or pointing with the furling main against a conventional main.                     [post_content] => Upon boarding, from the dock, or after a swim, life aboard is accessed from wide-open transoms with just two shallow steps up into the cockpit. The Lagoon 46 catamaran, As You Wish, also has the tender-lift option which doubles as a fabulous bathing platform when the dinghy is launched.

The cockpit is spacious and well thought out. When the cockpit table is not in use, the leaves fold down and there is an ingenious sliding seat that folds beneath the table, allowing access from the cockpit to the flybridge on the port side. There is also access to the flybridge from the starboard side. Additionally, in the cockpit, there is a sink, front-loading fridge, coal BBQ, and plenty of storage on the starboard side. To port, there is an extensive countertop with a built-in icebox.

The saloon of the Lagoon 46 catamaran is spacious and sumptuous. The galley is exceptional with copious counter space and storage, with a big sliding window that opens to the cockpit. It also comes equipped with a kettle, french press, blender, toaster, microwave and coffee machine. Natural light streams through the wrap-around vertical windows, and there’s a retractable sash window forward for maximum ventilation as well as passing drinks to the forward cockpit. Sinking into the saloon settees, you have to remind yourself you are on a yacht. Fully air-conditioned, with a generator, extensive fridge, and freezer space – this cat is designed for easy living.

In the hulls, there are 4 cabins, all with en-suite electric heads and showers.  Berths are large doubles in all cabins. Bountiful storage in hanging lockers and cupboards leaves cabins clear of clutter. Large, fixed hull windows with opening portlights bring natural light in abundance and great ventilation. There are two single berths in the bows, accessed from the deck.

Under sail, the Lagoon 46 catamaran has a high aspect mainsail, with a traveller adjusted using an electric captive winch, making for easy sail handling and manoeuvring as well as optimized performance. The mast step positioned further aft reduces pitching and allows a larger self-tacking jib, which is set on a curved track for added smoothness through the tack or gybe. The narrower hulls below the waterline create less drag, but with a hull chine, there is no compromise to interior space, so better performance and better accommodation! With electric winches where needed, autopilot, and the latest B&G navigation equipment, she can be sailed comfortably short-handed. With cable steering, the helm feedback is excellent. Up forward the transition from the trampoline to the forward cockpit area is flush, with no stepping down, and the cowling for the anchor windlass makes a great tabletop. Under power, she is smooth and responsive. The upgraded Yanmar 57 HP diesel pushes her under power comfortably at over 8 knots cruising speed.

The large, open-plan, aft cockpit of the Lagoon 50 catamaran features an L-shaped lounge area that is very comfortable for general leisure and provides uninterrupted views of the ocean beyond. Furthermore, the comfortable, deluxe seating area features a clever fold-away table that can be adjusted in height to be suitable as a dining table or coffee table. This creates the perfect dining area that can be used by crews large or small.

There are 4 sumptuous double cabins and an additional two compact doubles amidships. Each cabin has its own head and shower. There is a skipper's cabin in the port bow and a head and shower in the starboard bow that are accessed from the top deck.

                    [post_content] => "This is a gorgeous catamaran!" - states Horizon Yacht Charters founder, Andrew Thompson, who personally collected her from the yard in Bordeaux and sailed her up to La Rochelle. He was enormously impressed by the way she handled, sailing up the coast in 18-23 apparent and touching 11.2 knots close hauled. But there is so much to love about the Lagoon 51 Slinky Malinki, beyond her turn of speed.

Stepping aboard at the stern, you immediately note the transoms extend out beyond the hulls to give an enlarged boarding area, which can also used for an al fresco shower after a swim (the swim ladder is on the port side). Additionally, ‘Slinky Malinki’ has the tenderlift platform, which holds the 12ft RIB when aloft, but when deployed, the platform bridges both transoms to make a fabulous bathing, diving, ‘hanging out’ platform, which can be fully submerged, semi-submerged, or out of the water as you wish. You will also be extremely impressed by the re-imagined fly bridge, with a table and seating so that all crew can enjoy ‘ life up top’ with the skipper. The optimised Lagoon 51 flybridge covers 80% of the entire coach roof!

Sail controls are readily to hand from the steering station, with electric winches and a very user friendly electric captive winch for the traveller. As the jib is self-tacking, and the traveler is electric with no rope to handle by hand, the large full batten mainsail is easily handled especially when sailing short-handed. Docking is assisted by a bow thruster, and twin 80 hps (over 25ft apart). A full suite of Raymarine electronics including a huge chart plotter at the helm, makes navigation a breeze.

COCKPITS

Just two steps from the wide-open transoms, you enter the huge cockpit, with an expandable table and seating for ten. There is a fridge, icemaker, sink and sideboard! The aft cockpit opens into the saloon via full width sliding doors, to create a huge living area. Walk along the unobstructed side decks to access the forward cockpit which has a comfortable seating area with a coffee table in the centre and an awning for sun protection when at anchor so you’re sure you can enjoy every moment of sun or shade. The large central saloon window doubles as a helpful serving hatch!

INTERIOR

“The raised lounge of the saloon offers the best 360° panoramic views of the water” says the Nauta Design team. The Horizon crew agree! Step into the spacious saloon and discover the splendid living of the 51. Thanks to the mast being moved to the forward end of the saloon, the view is panoramic. The Alpi Oak Sand joinery reinforces the brightness in the space alongside the natural light pouring in from the windows. This brightness in the saloon makes the 51 feel like home. From every angle and perspective, this catamaran saloon’s space is impressive allowing for easy movement through the interior. The sumptuous upholstery puts most living rooms ahsore to shame. The galley is port aft in the saloon, and conjoins the interior and exterior space. There are two large fridge units in the galley, and in the port hull, there is also a freezer. The galley has a 4 burner stove, oven, microwave, blender, toaster and a water filter in line for the galley faucet. “ Slinky’ also has a watermaker capable of producing 30 gallons per hour. There are 4 double cabins, with (really nice!) en suite heads and showers, and an additional two double cabins amidships on each side. There is air conditioning throughout, although with large deck hatches, the tradewinds are sufficient most of the year to keep the interior comfortable.

Maverick is our 2017 Bavaria 34 charter yacht designed by Farr Yacht design to be a capable family cruiser. 
 
Built to a high German standard in Germany itself, Maverick has a roller furling main and genoa, with all control lines easy to hand in the cockpit. The genoa winches have been moved aft to ensure easy trimming by the helm or crew, meaning you can be under full sail in just a few minutes. As the 34 carries her beam well aft, she benefits from twin wheels – great for helming visibility, with the added bonus of direct access to the transom swim platform, without any clambering around a single wheel. The galley, with stove, hob, and fridge is to starboard and with three surprisingly generous double cabins, there is more than enough room for family and friends. Her galley also comes equipped with a kettle, french press and toaster and she has a coal BBQ on board - ideal for meals on the water. The 34 is responsive on the helm, easily sailed short-handed, and is the perfect yacht for a fabulous week (or more) of cruising around the islands.
